☀️ Morning Words

How to write your own morning affirmation

A morning affirmation is one short, kind sentence you say to yourself every morning — before you look at your phone. Not because magic words fix everything, but because the first sentence of your day sets its direction, and your phone will happily set it for you (usually badly) if you don't. We're not going to tell you what to say. Yours will work better than ours. Here's how to write it.

How to make yours

  1. 1Keep it short — one sentence you can say in one breath.
  2. 2Make it believable. "Today will be perfect" is a lie your brain will reject. "I can handle today's version of today" is not.
  3. 3Make it about you, not about other people changing.
  4. 4Say it before your phone. Out loud, in a whisper, or in your head — all fine.
  5. 5Same words every morning. It can feel silly at first. That's normal — keep going for a week before judging it.

Some examples to start from

"Today, I only need to take care of today."
"Small is still forward."
"I will say good morning expecting nothing back — and that will be enough."

That's the whole practice. One breath, one sentence, then the day.
