✦SHIP — Network for Hikikomori & an Inclusive Society

Founded and chaired by Ikegami Masaki — himself a sibling. Its founding statement names the sibling position directly: sibling struggles 'had no consultation window, no receiving place — they were made invisible,' and invites siblings in. Japan's oldest sibling organization, born from a 1963 newspaper appeal: 'Let's stop suffering alone.' A national body for siblings of disabled people, with regional meetings and Zoom lectures — a 60-year-old shelf that has long doubled as an entry point for hikikomori siblings.
